Abadia Retuerta are one of the region's top producers and they make what may well be the finest white in the region.  An exotic blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Verdejo, this is a simply stunning wine, I'm thinking perhaps a cross between a high end Meursault and a top notch white Bordeaux.  Initially smoky on the nose, this soon blows off to reveal a plethora of tropical fruits along with peach, citrus and grapefruit.  There are hints of honey, ginger and minerals, encased by mouth watering acidity and a lovely structure.  It's wonderfully smooth and just brings your tastebuds to life.  Refined, classy and sublime, if you want to impress your wine pals with something a bit different, this is it.
