An exceptional wine from a small winemaker in the Rias Baixas sub region of Val do Salnes. Alberto owns 2.2 hectares of vines, all planted with Albarino and divided into 12 plots. His approach is based on producing wonderful fruit by looking after his vineyards well and minimal intervention in his winemaking. His A Grana is fermented with wild yeasts and then aged for 11 months on lees in chestnut barrels. It's a wonderfully bright wine with lemons, crisp apples, grapefruit and peach on the nose. These fruits continue onto the palate with high acidity, a lovely texture and a bit of creaminess on the finish. There's a clean mineral edge too making the wine refreshing and delicious. Fresh enough to drink by itself but with enough complexity to pair with seafood. Top stuff.
