We tasted this recently against Pierre Gonon's exceptional Saint Joseph and it more than held its own. So much so that, given how difficult the Gonon wines are to get hold of, we're listing this as well. Produced from old vines, the wine is rich yet elegant with fresh dark bramble fruits, white pepper, spice, liquorice, tobacco and hints of grilled meats. Lovely fine tannins and juicy acidity mean that this will age gracefully for 7 years plus but it's so good now, why wait?
