We tend to avoid Grand Marque Champagnes but we've made an exception for this - given it's the smallest GM house and the quality is exceptional.  The Blanc des Millenaires is truly a stunner, produced from 100% Chardonnay from four of the finest Grand Crus in the Cotes des Blancs - Cramant, Avize, Oger, Le Mesnil sur Oger - and one Premier Cru - Vertus.  It has a fairly deep colour and the nose reveals intense aromas of apricots, orange, roasted nuts, brioche, fresh pastry and cream.  This complexity and depth continues on the palate, starting with a fresh chalky texture then revealing citrus, poached pear, peach, honey, buttered popcorn, toast and a small hint of sweet spice.  The purity, balance, depth of flavour, complexity and length is astounding and, whilst this is not cheap, it really is up there amongst the best Champagnes you can buy.  Top notch.
