I've been trying to get my hands on some of Yves Gangloff's wines for a while, post a trip to the Northern Rhone where I kept hearing from the locals that he was "the man".  He's considered a bit of a rock star winemaker so I was delighted to finally taste his Condrieu and I have to say that it's one of the best wines I have drunk in the last few years.  It's astonishingly good.  Very inviting on the nose with ripe peach, apricot, candied peel and spice, the palate is even more of a stunner.  Perfectly weighted with peach, apricot, lychee, ginger, a touch of creaminess, waxiness, lovely minerality and fresh acidity, the finish still lingers after 2 minutes or more.  It's got everything - bright fruit, minerality, complexity, harmony, balance and length.  It does age brilliantly but it's so darn good now, I'd be tempted to keep on drinking it.  Exceptional.
