Another wonderful wine from Andy Smith at DuMOL and, if you haven't tasted their wines yet (Chardonnays and Pinots) then I suggest you do so asap.  The Isobel Chardonnay is exceptional, made from fruit from the Charles Heintz Vineyard which sits 1000 feet above sea level and eight miles from the Pacific Ocean.  It's unashamedly New World in terms of the lovely crisp citrus fruit and gently toasty oak, but it has such wonderful finesse and balance, complexity and length, minerality and vibrancy, that it more than doffs its hat towards the finest whites of Burgundy.  Fast becoming one of my favourite producers.
