Praesidium are a small family owned producer based in Italy's Abruzzo region.  Their aim is to produce excellent wines by respecting the land and the vineyards, farming organically and then making wines with minimal intervention.  Their philosophy is very much with a nod to the old ways and quality and sustainability are sought over everything else.  Their Luci Trebbiano is technically an orange wine given its extended skin contact and it's a gorgeous wine, showcasing what this workhorse variety can do when handled with care.  Light amber in colour, the nose and palate display lovely notes of baked apple, melon, citrus and honey, along with good acidity, a lovely texture and a hint of bitter almond on the finish.  Different and really interesting, pair this with roast pork or chicken and you'll be very happy indeed.
