If you're looking for a stunning white that's a bit different, then read on.  Made by Vie di Romans, one of the region's most iconic producers, this is a blend of 57% Malvasia Istriana, 35% Riesling and 8% Friulano and is a perfumed, aromatic beauty.  On the nose, it's delightful with subtle hints of peach, pear, apple blossom, jasmine and honey - lots going on.  It's more powerful on the palate than the nose first suggests but it is wonderfully balanced with lovely acidity.  Really fresh and minerally with stone fruit, citrus, apple, grapefruit and a creamy hint on the finish.  Both light in the mouth but with real depth at the same time, it is complex and lovely.
