This is a South African wine from Mullineux that's been on my radar for some time, consistently gaining 5 stars in Platter's guide and being awarded 96 points from Tim Atkin MW in this year's South African report. It's a tiny production wine and, to be honest, most of the time this ends up in the top restaurants and a only a handful of merchants so we're one of the lucky few. Produced from a single vineyard on the higher slopes of the Helderburg Mountain, I really think this is sublime. Softly creamy and buttery with lovely citrus & tropical laden fruit and hints of spice, balanced with mineral edges and good acidity, it's simply one of those wines which you drunk and just go "yum". It drinks beautifully now but has good cellar potential, so if you like top New World Chardonnay, then this is for you.
It's got a very, very high rating from the community at Vivino here.
