Nin Ortiz wines are made by Ester Nin and her husband Charles.  Their commitment is to old vineyard plots and biodynamic techniques and their wines are stunning across the range - pure, elegant and balanced with huge ageing potential.  And small production, which is why they have become much sought after.  Produced from equal amounts of each grape variety, 2300 bottles were produced of this vintage and it really is a cracker.  The nose is really expressive and inviting with notes of lemon, peach, quince, smoke and aniseed.  The palate is rich but perfectly balanced with lemon peel, baked apple, peach, apricot, honey, cream.... and more each time you take a sip.  And, while rich, this is offset by a lovely structure, crisp acidity and the long, lingering finish.  Truly excellent stuff and I can't wait to try again and again as it ages.
