Another star grower, working from just 2.5 hectares of vines planted about 1km from Reims (in Villers-Aux-Noeuds), Emmanuel adopted organic practices in 2008 and has never looked back. He finds that his wines have more minerality and depth, aroma, length and complexity since he changed to organics - so that's a big tick from us. His Le Mont Benoit is 37% Pinot Noir, 33% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, made from a base of 80% 2016 and 20% 2015, disgorged Feb 2020 with 2g/l dosage. It's tense and vibrant with salty minerals and crisp, citrus laden fruit along with notes of brioche, apple, peach, nectarine, cream and spice. Long, balanced, complex and harmonious - lovely stuff!!
