The jewel in the crown of one of Ribera del Duero's cult producers, this single vineyard Tempranillo is a stunner, with the vines grown at an altitude of 850m on sandy loam soils. Aged for 22 months in French oak, this is a powerful wine with heady aromas and flavours of black forest fruits, cherries, plum, dark chocolate, smoke, vanilla, exotic spice and bay leaf. But once again, the richness is balanced by a lifted character to the wine which elevates it to another level. The tannins are silky smooth, acidity is fresh, it has a great mouth feel along with wonderful balance and length. Drink from now (decant an hour or two) and over the next 10-15 years. Exceptional and amazing value for such quality (as with all the Capellanes wines).
