There are some cracking German Pinot Noirs and Andreas Bender has made one here. His style of low intervention winemaking has led the bright fruit to shine through so, like his Riesling, you get a thoroughly enjoyable wine that makes you smile. This has plenty of bright wild strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit sitting alongside earthy notes, subtle spice, cinnamon, dark chocolate and hints of toasty oak. It's not massively structured but that's not a bad thing as it's not trying to be. It's simply saying "drink me, I'm delicious". Great value for what it is.
