One of Rioja's historic estates, this family owned affair is now run by Telmo Rodriguez with the focus on showcasing the potential and diversity of Remelluri's own vineyards. The Reserva is their flagship wine, aged for 16 months in French oak, then three years in the bottle before release. This is a silky, elegant wine with both power and elegance. Quite deep in colour, the nose is of wild strawberries, plums, cream and liquorice and it leads you into a velvety smooth palate with red berries and dark cherries, spice, toasty oak, tobacco, minerals, fine grained tannins and good acidity. Really long and balanced, it's drinking beautifully now but will develop and improve over the next decade. Quality.
