Peter Dawson and Tim James are veterans of the Australian wine scene, having worked together for over two decades, and you can see their collective skill and wisdom in their Tasmanian project. This Pinot Noir - winner of the International Wine Challenge Trophy in 2021 - is a stunner. The nose is the perfect Pinot Noir nose with that ideal balance between naturally sweet fruit, savoury notes and hints of spice. It's like the best of Old World and New World Pinot Noir rolled in to one with delightful notes of cherry, raspberry, blackberry, plum, cranberry, smoke, pepper, clove, truffle and earth - really very complex. The palate further enhances the fact that this is a sublime wine, it's got a stunningly silky mouth feel with pure cashmere fruit, fresh acidity, sappy tannins that add texture and mineral notes. It really is a top quality wine and, whilst drinking superbly right now, I think this will develop further for 7-10 years. I'm putting some of this and their Chardonnay in my cellar and highly recommended you do the same.
