We've always loved Miles Mossop's Bordeaux blend, Max.  It's simply cracking value for a wine of such quality and, whenever we serve it, friends always comment on how good it is.  In fact, a great mate, who only ever drinks decent claret, has become a convert (after years of me trying to find a New World alternative that he'd enjoy).  It's silky smooth and packed with brambly black fruits, a hint of red cherry, tobacco leaf, subtle notes of toasty oak and sweet spice.  As with any good wine, it's all in harmony with the bright acidity, fine tannins and a well balanced structure.  Whilst very enjoyable in its youth, the wine has the capacity to develop well in bottle, making it even more of a bargain.
