They say that Vinho Verde never used to travel well - what tasted brilliant whilst sitting in a bar in Portugal enjoying a plate of grilled sardines didn't taste quite as good when you got back home. But Quinta de Azevedo have dispelled that myth with this lovely Alvarinho (the same grape variety as Spain's Albarino) which is packed with nectarine, peach, apricot and citrus notes, balanced with crisp, fresh acidity and a long mouth watering finish. They've started using a little bit of French oak now so that adds a bit of creaminess and texture, adding to the quality. Top stuff.
