There are just 800 bottles made of this incredible biodynamic rose. It is produced from a tiny 1.7 hectare estate with vineyards 800m up the slopes of Mount Etna, planted with native varieties of 120-140 year old vines. Federica and Cesare purchased the estate in 2005, looking for a more simple life, and they make wine here pretty much the same way it has been done since the 9th century. It's about as natural as it gets. Light in colour, the nose reveals delicate notes of wild strawberry and water melon. With no added sulphur, the palate has a little bit of spritz initially but this soon dissipates and the soft strawberry, cherry and pomegranate come through along with a really minerally streak. It has fresh, crisp acidity and is really quite a thirst quencher. You could seriously drink a lot of this - the only problem being there is so little made. Considered by some in the know as the world's best rose, it's a real privilege to both stock it and be able to drink it.
