I feared this was going to be too rich for me before I tasted the sample but how wrong I was!  It is a full bodied wine but it's so beautifully balanced that the first thing I did post enjoying it was to put a case in my own cellar.  It's a stunner and rightly regarded as one of Chile's finest wines.  Predominantly Carmenere (92%), the nose greets you with a heady array of blackberries, cassis, red cherry, perfume and sweet spice.  Then onto the palate with it's plush fruits of the forest beautifully balanced with ripe, juicy tannins and good acidity.  This harmony of flavours is carefully balanced meaning it is a very well made wine.  As it evolves in the glass, notes of leather, dark chocolate, clove, nutmeg, tobacco, pepper and vanilla come through and it finishes long and silky.  Exceptional.
