The iconic La Rocca, Pieropan's top single vineyard Soave and one of Italy's finest whites, with the capacity for long term ageing. This wine is a serial award winner and has to be one of the most consistently excellent wines in the world. Packed with an amazing array of fruits (lemon, apricot, pineapple, pear, baked apple), almonds, sweet spice and honey, it is wonderfully balanced on the palate with crisp acidity and minerality balancing out the richness. There is really a lot going on, it changes in the glass as you drink, and it has got a lovely texture in the mouth - from a bit of lees stirring and ageing in old oak barrels. Long and harmonious, it is drinking beautifully now but gets better and better with time.
