Fox & Fox are an East Sussex based boutique producer making tiny quantities of multi award winning fizz. They are one of the closest vineyards to us and a producer whose wines we have enjoyed for years. Their Meunier is a rare thing given that very few producers focus on this variety (Pinot Noir always being the dominant force in BdN). However, they were so impressed by the quality of their fruit in certain vintages that they felt the wine could work - and this has been reinforced by a multitude of awards for this wine, including a Gold at the Sommelier Wine Awards 2020. It's a wine with purity, elegance and minerality with bright orchard fruit, citrus, almond and brioche - probably the closest wine to Champagne that they release (not intentionally). And, whilst this is drinking wonderfully now, I think this will develop further in bottle, becoming more nutty, toasty and rounded.
