I’m a big fan of Casa Ferreirinha, having enjoyed a few of their wines, and this is a no brainer for an everyday drinking red. In fact, it’s miles better than an everyday drinking red but it’s at such a sensible price that you won’t feel guilty cracking open a bottle on a school night. Medium bodied with smooth berry fruit, a kiss of oak, well balanced with silky tannins and good acidity, it's fresh with a touch of violet that lifts the finish. Outstanding for the money. And it’s got a lovely bird on the label (not the Sam Fox variety), which is a plus in my book.
