One of Tim Atkin's First Growth Argentinean wineries, Colome's Lote Especial wines - made from special parcels - are a step up from the estate wines and, in our opinion, worth paying the little extra money for the lot(e) extra wine. The La Brava Malbec is a beauty with plush dark fruits and spice on the nose, followed by a dark, velvety palate with layers of blackberry, damson and black cherry along with liquorice, sweet spice and pepper. The tannins are juicy and ripe and the acidity is well balanced. A top quality Malbec from a first rate producer.
